Or maybe you are an adult who has always wanted to learn how to ride but not sure how to get started? Look no further – the Bancroft Ranch in Upper Carmel Valley offers basic riding instruction for children and adults along with horsemanship skills and perspectives they’ll take with them everywhere they go. Instruction is tailored to each person’s experience, ability level and confidence. The ranch has a variety of gentle and wise lesson horses and ponies available. Individual attention and an emphasis on safety, confidence and fun are the qualities that differentiate our program from others. Susan teaches most Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Trail & Saddle Club in the Carmel Valley Village, and most Thursday and Fridays at the ranch in Cachagua. Contact her to set up a time slot that works for you.

The Bancroft Ranch is a full-service boarding facility located 30 minutes east of the Carmel Valley Village. In addition to private and semi-private lessons for adults and children, we also offer pony rides and trail rides.

YOUTH RIDING LESSONS

• $40 for a half-hour child’s beginner riding lesson, lead line lesson or pony ride
• $60 per youth for a shared hour lesson
• $75 for a private one hour lesson or shared trail ride

ADULT RIDING LESSONS

• $75 per person for a one hour lesson or trail ride (private or shared)
